I am not usually one to actively participate in many of these social media.... things...
In fact, this entire thing is more for me than anyone else, but I decided I should do it. You know, start a "Blog."
I am about to enter college. Yes, that big, giant school in the sky, or on the hill in my case. As I am about to enter a maelstrom of work and education, I know that I will have little time to document it. In fact, this transition from adolescence to adulthood, this crazy, daunting, absolutely insane thing, is not often documented. It's written about by plenty of adults. However, we don't hear much from people in my age group.
No, hashtags and cute posts about your cat don't count at all. Sadly that is about the only thing we hear about from my generation. No one actually looks into these crazy lives we live.
And few people have documented, or put their stories of these years out there.
Seriously, no one remembers anything from these years of their lives. And they are some of the most important, not to mention the craziest!
So, my job is to make sure I remember them, and maybe help someone else understand or remember what they went through, and what their kids, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc. are also going through.
You are about to learn pretty much the paramount thing about me. I'm completely obsessed with music. OCD I call it. Because, well, I play the cello. Obsessive Cello Disorder. I practice All of the time. I almost have to. Because, first of all, I would die. Second of all, I am majoring in music. That means a 4 hour practice session every day.
Now, music uses italian terms to give direction to what ever it is you're playing. "Allegro Con Fuoco" happens to be a term which means, fast, With Fire. This term perfectly describes this phase of life I'm in. It probably describes life in general as well, but I thought it a fitting name.
But you will quickly learn about my music obsession, and all of the quirks it brings.
Here I am. So cute :) Up above are some
Piano stairs I found in San Francisco, and to the
right is me in front of Multnomah Falls in Oregon.
Yes, we love to travel...... A LOT.
Im also crazy about art of any kind. I've been
drawing longer than I've been playing cello, and
I basically just love to be creating
in any capacity possible.
My freak outs about music and art are about the same.
Some call it being cultured, I'm just
obsessed with the finer things in life.
Yes, I'm a bit weird for my age.
I was honestly born in the wrong decade.
Which possibly explains why I'm actually writing all of this, and not sitting around looking at Twitter, But don't mistake me, I'm still a kid at heart ;)
Enough chat. Here are some of the things and people who matter most to me :)
My dear cello family from my youth symphony. The Girlie on the left is my prospective roommate :) Love these people!
My group of friends from High School. Yes, we are separating, and going to many different parts of the world. 4 different States, and 4 different countries to be exact, but they are wonderful beautiful people who have made me the person I am.
Some one I have failed to introduce. My dear Cello, Antonio. We all call him Tony. He is a beast of a cello, hand crafted in west Germany, and he is the true love of my life ;)
And of course my cute family :) Even though I will not be under their roof constantly, They will still be a huge part of my life as they always have been.
Well, that's a pretty good sum up of me, in a nutshell.
Unfortunately there are about a billion tiny nuanced break offs to this nutshell,
but we will tackle that on moment at a time.
Well, my time for the moment is running short, but here is your first piece of teenage/young adult wisdom.
I believe in living.
I'm sure everyone does, and you're thinking, "oh that's cute."
No, you don't get it.
For 13 years, I have traced paths every day in florescently lighted buildings,
with about a thousand other bodies. We aimlessly floated about each other.
For 13 years.
Many, many, many people exist. Every day. They breathe, walk, eat, poop, talk, but it is rare to find a person who actually lives.
I'm not saying that only people with exciting lives live, but people
who do find excitement in every day create for themselves a much
better attitude and frame of mind than those who don't.
I envy them, and hope to create the same for myself :)
Now, time for an adventure :)
