Ah, the wedding day. Love. L'Amour.
Something little girls plan and dream of all of their lives. They watch the Disney movies and play princess, and distressing damsel. They wait and hope for an invitation to the prom, the list goes on.
I did my share of that in High School, and in my younger years, and it was fun while it lasted, but I also realized some things.
Exhibit A.

Exhibit A.
Women are in Love with a perfect Romance, which doesn't really exist. Unfortunately.
Mostly unfortunately for men, because it makes it hard for them to live up to these feminine fantasies of a perfect relationship. Poor fellows, I do pity them. However, in my limited experience there are things that I believe would make any relationship, and any man truly perfect :)
So, here is my open letter to my future spouse.
Hey Hun. Here are a few things that I think are just Dandy in life :)
#1: Chivalry.
It's a dying art, I know. I also know that everyone always says that, and that most guys do in fact open doors, and hold umbrellas, and all of that. But chivalry is not just opening a door you would have opened in the first place. It's how a guys speaks too. Any guy who can be kind, (and as un-foul mouthed as possible,) is truly one of a kind. Any guy who is just sweet by word and deed a like is truly chivalrous.
#2: Smarts.
I'm a smart girl. At least I think I am. So any guy I can have an intelligent conversation with is a real find. Like, a real conversation. Not just the typical Text conversation.
Girl: Hey How are you?!
Guy: Good.
Girl: What's going on?
Guy: Nothin
At this point, I as a girl just scratch my head and think..... what do I even say to that? And I probably would just go do something else to be honest. I'm talking a real conversation here. It doesn't have to be serious. Just real. Plus, someone who can understand my vocabulary and contribute to a conversation is just flat out amazing.
#3: Spontaneous Honest Fun.
If a guy said to me, "Jessica, How about we build a Fort and Watch Lord of the Rings in it all day, and eat ice cream and do a finger painting in between movies?" I would already be building the fort, and that person would have made the top of my list of favorite people for the day. And that's all totally something I will never out grow. I'm a big fan of simplicity. Yes, I also like to be fancy (see #4,) but sometimes, the simple things in life are the best. And just being randomly, simply, fun is one of the greatest ways to be happy in the world. It's something I always want in my life. It's something a good friend of mine calls the "dance with me in the rain" affect. Anyone who would dance with me in the rain, or anything to that effect is pretty much perfect :)
#4: Fine Taste.
I'm a bit of a snob sometimes. Call it cultured, living for the finer things, a snob. I love me a good Opera, a fancy dinner, and getting dressed up just because. Candle lit dinners, Jazz, I love it all. Any guy with a fine taste is a fine catch.
So, basically if this guys walked in I would faint. Just sayin'.
#5: Communication.
I am not like many women. I can't read any minds. So, communication is key. It would certainly help everyone. Thank you kindly.
#6:Joy.
Everyone is to some extent happy. But when we can just have absolute bliss and Joy. Like the kind that lasts forever. That's amazing. I want Joy. That kind of joy in life :) And you know, I'm already a pretty happy person, but if there's someone out there that I can be blissfully happy with, Well then, I'll just be set for life.
#7: Cute.
Okay, I know that guys like to be all manly and stuff, but I'm totally for a guy who likes to be cute. And by that I mean a few things. Randomly doing cute things, Like those little simple things that make all of the difference. Showing up with random flowers, Chocolate (always a great idea. Hint hint, nod nod, wink wink...) You know? Those things that make girls go, "AWWWWW!!!!" Just adorableness.
I could honestly sit here and make a really nit picky list of all of these qualities my future husband should have, and all of that jazz, but I really can't. Because Mr. Perfect isn't exactly out there. Mr. Who knows who is out there though, and I'll know him when I find him. He'll probably have most of these just because it's what I enjoy in life!
End of the story is, that I don't just want to settle for anyone, and I'm quite content to continue searching for exactly what I need in life. As close or far to a chick flick as that all falls doesn't matter to me. The money he has, looks he has, cars he owns, none of that really matters. (It might be nice...) but at the end of the day, I want my best friend with me forever :) and I won't quit until I find him, and everything works out. For now, I'll be the fun girl that he rightly deserves.
